SEADLING Launches Second Seaweed Processing Facility

What started in 2018 as a simple question — “𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥 𝘢 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦?” — has grown into a company grounded in science, sustainability, and long-term vision.

From early research to a pilot factory in 2021 and through the challenges of a global pandemic, we've stayed focused on innovation, sustainability, and impact.

We’re proud to announce the launch of our second seaweed processing facility, located in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo — a region rich in biodiversity and opportunity within the global blue economy.

This new facility is designed to produce and innovate seaweed-based functional ingredients for human, animal, and plant health — meeting growing global demand for regenerative, science-backed nutrition.

The event was officiated by YB Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe, Sabah’s Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship, and attended by representatives from the Department of Fisheries Sabah, Malaysian Cocoa Board, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), and other key partners from government and academia.

We were especially honoured to host our international investors — AgFunder, The Yield Lab Asia Pacific, and Toyo Seikan Group , whose presence reflects strong global confidence in SEADLING’s mission and potential.

This new facility positions Sabah as a contributor to the global blue economy with tropical seaweed at the center of innovation in functional ingredients and sustainable nutrition.
